The 5 Themes of Geography 1
For the 1650 Map, I think Place E would be the best because it is near a water source, good farmland, and has mountains around for protection. For the 1830 map, Place A would be a good place to put a settlement because there is a waterfall nearby which would be perfect for a water wheel to filter the fresh water from the river. For the 1850 map, I recommend Place C for a settlement because there is good farmland nearby and coal next to them.

Location-is defined as a particular place or position
Place- refers to the physical and human characteristics and aspects of a location
Toponym-is the name of a place
Site- the physical characteristics of a place
Situation- is the relative location to a location

Geographers use toponyms, sites, and situations to describe location.
